Citizens Bank of Edmond was originally
chartered on April 18, 1901 as the Citizens State
Bank. At that time, Edmond had a population of less
than a thousand people. Citizens Bank provided businesses
and individuals the capital to ensure early frontier
development.
As Edmond grew and developed, Citizens Bank showed
promising growth as well. By 1914, the bank had merged
with Farmer’s State Bank to build the original Main
Branch located at First and Broadway. The building
at 102 S. Broadway is a significant landmark in the
original township of Edmond, and in 1980 was added
to the National Register of Historic Places. The upper
level is currently used for bank employee offices
and the lower level is a retail shop.
In 1981, Citizens State Bank became
Citizens Bank of Edmond and remains a locally owned
and operated bank. Our focus is the same as it was
100 years ago – serving the financial needs of our
customers and our community. As a community bank,
we understand the importance of personal and professional
relationships. We nurture these relationships, and
our employees live, work and volunteer in our community.
The celebration of our 100th anniversary in April
of 2001 truly reflects the commitment we have with
