Home Equity Loans and Lines of Credit

Citizens Bank of Edmond has both Home Equity Credit Lines and Home Equity Loans available. If you own your own home you might want to consider using the equity to secure the loan to pay for home improvements, a wedding, a new automobile or even college tuition. You can also transfer existing debt with higher interest rates to a Home Equity Loan or Home Equity Line of Credit.

Generally, the interest of a home equity loan or line of credit up to $100,000 with a maximum loan-to value ratio of 100%, is tax deductible. You should consult with your accountant regarding your specific tax situation.

Home Equity Line of Credit

A Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) is a revolving credit facility in which your home serves as collateral. The HELOC has a variable interest rate with an initial draw period of five years. At the end of five years, any balance will be amortized over ten years.

Home Equity Loan

A Home Equity Loan also uses your home as the collateral, but this loan generally has a fixed interest rate (the rate may change if the term of the loan is greater than 3 years), therefore your payments remain constant.

The loan amount will depend on equity in your home (appraised value-existing mortgage = equity) and your ability to service the monthly payment. Citizens offers competitive interest rates and fees and we can usually have the loan documents ready in one week!
