When you click the "Log On" button, a connection is made using the secure SSL technology to the Online Banking system, and then your encrypted ID and PIN information is sent. As soon as you click the "Log On" button, you will see the lock icon in the lower right corner of the browser window and the address bar will show "https", indicating the secure connection.
